Both Thuthiqut Hulelum’ and The Georgia View Project have been successfully rezoned, which means we have the green light from the Islands Trust to move forward with each project. Both projects are deep into the planning stage. We are working with development partners for each project and moving as fast as we can, but it takes time. 

Timing now is dependent on permitting and funding. Funding will need to come from many different sources - local, provincial and federal - including grants and loans, as well as our own community fundraising efforts. It takes time for funding opportunities to be made available and then once the applications are made, it takes time to receive the results.

Of course, there are many worthy projects applying for funding across the province and across the country. GALI won’t receive every grant we apply for but we are poised to act quickly on any and all fundraising opportunities that arise to give us the best chance possible chance of success

We have been successful with many applications so far and with additional submissions pending, we are on our way to building the funding stack necessary for major construction costs.
